Huobi Group has announced on its official website members that have come onboard its Huobi Chain Expert Advisory Committee. Eight members have joined this committee, luminaries such as Don Tapscott, Steve Hoffman, Xiaolei Liu, Ooi Beng Chin, Jeffrey Wernick, Lon Wong, Jihan Wu, and most notably Randi Zuckerberg.
Randi, the former director of market development and spokesperson for Facebook, currently is the CEO of Zuckerberg Media, a company that was formed a mere five years ago. The members that presently comprise the Huobi Chain Expert Advisory Committee bring in a diverse pool of talent and expertise that would put the digital asset trading platform well on its way to making it big.
On the 6th of June, the Huobi Group launched the Huobi Chain Project (HCP) along with the Huobi Chain Superhero Championship Program (HCSCP) to encourage community participation during the development of Huobi’s public blockchain.
About the championship, the CEO of Huobi Group, Leon Li, mentioned “We firmly believe in a decentralised future, and the main goal of the Huobi Chain project is to transform a centralised corporation to a decentralised one that’s run by the community. Our dream is for Huobi to run on the public blockchain and become a truly decentralised autonomous organisation.”
The Huobi Chain Expert Advisory Committee is set to assist the HCSCP’s election phase by providing its unique set of expertise alongside providing the platform with the insight it requires when it comes to governance and concerns over its development.
Since the social media giant no longer employs Randi Zuckerberg, any concerns over a conflict of interest are alleviated. The same could not be said for Facebook’s blockchain head David Marcus, who recently had to step down from the Coinbase’s board of members due to issues arising from a conflict of interest.
