Bin Delo – Crypto world creates Britain’s youngest self-made billionaire

At just 34, Bin Delo, co-founder of Bitmex has become the youngest British self-made billionaire as reported by Daily Mail. He is also the first Briton to earn a billion in the cryptoverse. He co-founded Bitmex, a crypto trading platform in 2014, and is a graduate of Oxford University. Currently, he’s reported to be living with his wife Pan Pan Wong in Hong Kong.

Further, Delo shared with Daily Mail that he has worked hard and spent 18 hours each day to build the platform that Bitmex is today. According to the data on Coinmarketcap, Bitmex is one of the largest exchanges of cryptocurrency as of 3rd July 2018 with a trading volume of almost $2 billion. “I have had my nose down in a start-up for the past four years. I was doing 18-hour days at one point,” he shared.

Delo graduated from Worcester College, the University of Oxford as a major in mathematics and computer sciences in 2005 with a first-class degree. Before developing the trading platform with his U.S. colleague Samuel Reed, he worked as a software engineer at IBM and then as an Assistant Vice President at JP Morgan.

He further shared that with limited resources in the beginning, they had to rent out bedrooms on Airbnb to work, and also put together a small portion of his living room to function as an office. Even today, after amassing a fortune, he doesn’t believe in luxurious living. He further follows the footprints of his idols, Warren Buffett and Bill Gates by contributing most of his wealth to philanthropic entities.

At a time when the wealthy don’t hesitate to spend lavishly on themselves and to create a lifestyle inclusive of several luxuries, the first self-made billionaire and his wife own only three pairs of shoes. Reportedly, they use vouchers at McDonald’s to buy food.

Deno was voted as the student who was most likely to become a millionaire and at the same time, the second most likely to be in prison, in his college yearbook. It seems like he has chosen the right path.
