Bittrex, the leading U.S based blockchain platform, now supports eligible personal and corporate accounts for USD trading, deposits and withdrawals from the state of Arizona. Bittrex initially only supported identity verified customers outside the United States or operating in California, New York, Montana, Washington state and corporate customers in Pennsylvania. According to Fred Krueger, CoinBase was the only entity that was licensed to accept fiat and sell crypto in every state within the U.S., whereas Gemini did not operate within Hawaii and Arizona, giving Bittrex and additional state to encapsulate within its existing customers base.
The Reddit user u/Dbrizzy80 posted a screenshot of an email received from Bittrex announcing the licence they received to accept customers located in the Arizona region into their USD markets.
Bittrex is launching fiat USD trading on their platform on August 20th with USD markets for Ethereum Classic (ETC) and Ripple (XRP). The rollout will be of this would be completed using a phased approach, which would invite a small group of retail customers to participate in USD markets. The In order to add your Bittrex account to the USD markets, users need to submit a support request which would take a few days to receive approval according to Bittrex.
This news coupled with the bill that was passed in the Arizona Senate in February, allowing residents to pay their income taxes using Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies, could bring Arizona State Representative Jeff Weninger’s vision to life, of making Arizona a hub of technological innovation.
